Let This Be My Legacy, Bitches.

I have no idea what constitutes a good person. Morality has so many gray areas that I can’t and don’t want to define it. Christians have a strong idea of what is moral, as well as the Muslims, the Jews, the Buddhists, the Mormons. So many rules and boundaries, so many to to follow and so many choices taken away and filled with guilt. To be good we worship deities but fail to worship each other, vindicated by  dozens of books written by philosophers thousands or hundreds of years ago give or take a mushroom trip or accidental pregnancy . The mistake that ties them is the long list of do’s and don’t that accidentally propagate our largest weakness: Pack Mentality and the fear of what is unknown. The “other’s” be it a different race, gender, religion, species, or sexual identity, anything failing to mirror ourselves is viewed and treated as being less. We are so desperate to survive, and to rise (to avoid being without or left behind) quickly abuse what little advantages we have. A mentality that has spread like a plague. The host, the mind of “great scientists” such as darwin or “great minds” such as Nietzsche. Their weakness and desperation is quickly digested by like-minded creatures with an inferiority complex and the need to show their worth by exploring any possible advantage, be it their dominion over animals or their wives over other races. “We’re all sinners” Christians say. How sad we think of ourselves, of other humans. What low expectations we have for our performance.  How nice is it to not have to take responsibility for sucking.

I’ve witnessed unbelievable cruelty. But I’ve also witnessed incredible acts of sacrifice and good. The religion of the world should have no rules, rather, an idea, one simple idea for our simple minds. The mantra should be: You deserve nothing, give the most you can and hurt the least that you can. Take responsibility for what you do wrong. That’s it. I think that was Christianity’s original idea but it was mucked up with too many words. Every great work of literature gives the opportunity of interpretation and too often the work is interpreted incorrectly. Too many words, too many lengthy stories, too many vague agenda’s, results in a whole lot of confusion or worse, the ability to use the text for personal gain. Humans are better with simples lists, things that can’t be twisted for personal or political benefit.

Follow this. Kumbaya and all that shit.

I totally agree! I think that is what drives me so far from organized religion. All these people pointing fingers and judging when the main point should be to better ourselves!! Grow as individuals and be fucking KIND!! Love this and you
